We come into the presence of God by translating our Jewish identity into action, wherever we are. We bring holiness into our lives by acting to sanctify the everyday. - Harold Kushner
The goal of the Caring Community is to provide Temple members a way of fulfilling the mitzvah of performing acts of G’milut Chasadim (deeds of loving kindness) within the Temple community, especially in difficult situations. When we bring people closer together, we fulfill our sacred mission. Our aim is to find wholeness and meaning in our lives, both as individuals and as a community. Since all Jews are enjoined to perform this mitzvah, we are, in fact all members of the Caring Committee.
If you would like to contact our Caring Community please call the Temple Office at (562) 434-0996.
The information included here is provided not only for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, but also those who want to provide comfort to the bereaved. Also included are actions that, if done prior to a death, will make the “business of death” less painful.
